A teenager in the Bronx was accused of stealing a backpack. The police arrested him.

Couldn't make bail. Would spend 2 years on Riker's island awaiting a trial.

-only for the charges to be dropped. Many were appalled, they set it up for him to go to community college. That's where I met him once- my electronics club. Made an LED Christmas tree-he seemed... so so so sad.

He took his own life later that year.

Anyways. Uh, Sam Bankman-Fried to be released on $250 million bail. #cw

words cannot describe how utterly pissed I am about SBF getting off easy while Pertsev sits in a cold cell for the holidays. I still dearly hope that Sam's punished to the fullest extent of the law and that he rots in jail for the rest of his life, but for now I am absolutely pissed.
