I spent a week on vacation with a Steam Deck as my only gaming device. It was... a mixed bag. I'll write it all up this weekend on my blog. I pulled it out on the plane and a kid in my row (playing his Switch) says "What is that!?".
@grumpygamer I've done this before and I was really happy with it. Did the same with my Switch recently and found myself missing the Deck (mostly because my Steam library has grown a lot recently and I wanted those games)
@grumpygamer I said the same thing when I saw it. For me it was like holding a Game Gear. My hands are now bigger but they look small on the Deck. Very nostalgic.
@grumpygamer I’ve definitely felt a strong urge to get the Steam Deck, but haven’t found a good enough reason yet as I still have lots of Switch games I want to play…
@grumpygamer super interested to read your opinion. I’m on the market for a handheld gaming device and I am torn between a Switch, a Steam Deck or an old school Evercade Exp.
@botolo86@grumpygamer Oh man there's so many devices on the market right now that would be great for gaming. Got a Switch, an Anbernic 351p, and a Steam Deck and I like them all for different reasons, but I keep coming back to the Deck.
@grumpygamer My main issue with Steam Deck on the go is that some pc games don't handle being ofline very well. Return to Monkey Island does it perfectly, btw.
@grumpygamer as someone who is on a train 2 hours a day it's amazing. Playing Monkey Island on it on the way in, and developing my game on the way home (that bit not on a Steam deck of course)
