I am truly horrified & outraged that the Taliban has banned women in Afghanistan from attaining education. The founder of Islam, Prophet Muhammad (sa), loudly condemned such barbarity when he declared, "Education is obligatory upon every Muslim male & female."

In fact Prophet Muhammad (sa) cherished both spiritual & secular education, & encouraged reading & writing for all people—not just Muslims. We stand with Afghan women. Indeed, Taliban terrorists are the antithesis of Islam & all humanity.

@QasimRashid what reasoning (if any) do the Taliban use to justify this oppression? I do not know much about Islam but your quotes from your prophet seem to be quite clear, how can this be (mis)interpreted in such a poor way?
@sailingbikeruk They don't have any reasoning. It's patriarchy through and through. Indeed in 859 an African Muslim woman named Princes Fatima al-Fihri founded al-Qarawiyyin, the world's oldest existing university. Taliban are ignorant, violent, insecure men. They're a scourge on humanity.
