U.S. support for Ukraine in its defense against Putin’s war is an investment in maintenance of world order.

Putin miscalculated the West was weak (and he certainly has tried to weaken it) and would not invest Ukrainian democracy.

Defending democracy isn't free. If Putin conquers Ukraine, the world order could and probably would collapse. The financial and other consequences to the U.S. would be far higher than the resources we are investing in Ukraine now.

Just as important for the long term, the Ukrainian people have demonstrated exemplary character and courage in this war on them. They deserve our friendship and continued support. The entire free world needs to stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes.

And for Republicans who claim so, no, it’s not a blank check. #Ukraine #IStandWithUkraine

@TonyStark McConnell himself for once got something right when he said Ukraine is the most important thing in the world right now. Country by country will be swallowed if Putin takes Ukraine and eventually it will come to us. Zelensky is completely correct: helping Ukraine IS an investment, not a charity. #IStandWithUkraine
