I've quickly become sick of pundits criticizing Pres. Zelenskyy for his attire. So, I wrote about it.

Actually, Pres. Zelenskyy's Attire is Perfect

Listen now (6 min) | An explanation for incredulous pundits.

Charlotte's Web Thoughts
@charlotteclymer It was really the lack of ribbons, medals and patches that I thought spoke very loudly. He doesn’t see himself as better than the people who elected him.
@charlotteclymer my immediate thought was that he doesn't have time to mess around with getting his suits cleaned or replaced, even supposing that there's a dry cleaner or men's shop still open & productive in Kyev.
@charlotteclymer I can't believe that people are focusing on his attire. The man is navigating an actual war. He shouldn't have to justify not wearing a damn suit.
@charlotteclymer yes! He is dressed as his people are dressed now. He is showing respect and honoring them and their fight over some silly performative protocol.
@charlotteclymer Excellent post. And β€œHe’s wearing the urgency of the moment…” is a brilliant observation. Thank you.

@charlotteclymer I didn't know it was a subject of criticism. I've been thinking it was perfect, too. A suit and tie would have been strange. Contrasts with the always-perfectly groomed war criminal attacking his country from the safety of Moscow.
@charlotteclymer So beautifully stated. Thank you. β€οΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦

@charlotteclymer Military wear, uniformed yet not for a formal occasion, its formal rank only that of a common conscripted private, a person fighting for their country, culture, family and way of life, same as everyone else wearing their uniforms in Ukraine today, tonight, this year and the next.

President Zelenskyy showed himself like this in the very first images on February 24th, and ever since, when appearing in public in his official capacity to the public, he can no longer be a civilian.

@charlotteclymer I was quietly pleased with his choice of attire. I would have been disappointed had he shown up all fancy.
@charlotteclymer The guy was completely on brand. You'd think the United Markets of America would respect that to the nth degree.

@charlotteclymer Well said.

"He's wearing the urgency of the moment, and thank god for that."

@charlotteclymer My only "criticism" is I thought he might be WARMER in a suit.
@charlotteclymer men wearing suits are always the ones starting wars
