Psst hey...
There's no evil AI overlord here...
Why aren't you boosting more stuff?
If you like something, boost it!
It's free and it makes people happy!
Go on, boost away!
@talia_christine Unlike Twitter, you won’t get thrown in Twitter jail for putting too many likes on things. How cool is that?!
@Lee_in_Iowa @talia_christine But can I piss off my admins by boosting controversial or rude stuff?
@packy @Lee_in_Iowa @talia_christine
I guess I'm in a similar situation - I feel like I just got here a few days ago (because... I just got here a few days ago), and I'm not confident that I understand the etiquette yet?
See, e.g., the toots making the rounds about whether or not it's poor form to, say, promote one's art that one offers for sale...
@RufusJCooter @Lee_in_Iowa @talia_christine I don't know about promoting your own work, but I said something unfriendly about Republicans and I got a friendly reminder from one of my admins that content warnings existed for a reason. So I'm not afraid to say anything MYSELF because I can wrap it in a CW, but I'm sometimes wary of just boosting something I agree with because it might warrant a CW.
@packy @RufusJCooter @Lee_in_Iowa eh, I wouldn't over think it, but CWs are always good
@talia_christine @packy @Lee_in_Iowa
Aw, geez! over-thinking it is one of the few things that I'm good at! /Now/ what am I gonna do?!?
@RufusJCooter @packy @Lee_in_Iowa whatever you want 🙂

@talia_christine @packy @Lee_in_Iowa
i
umm...
really?

OK, BRB, starting a klezmer band.
Know any good accordionists or clarinet players?

@RufusJCooter @talia_christine @Lee_in_Iowa OK, I lied, I don't have an accordion joke, but I wanted to make one.

@packy @talia_christine @Lee_in_Iowa

umm...

mmhhh...

Accordion? I don't even know one!
(No, that's no good.)

A man walk into a bar with a-
(No, that won't work either.)

Someone broke into my car last night. They left an accordion next to mine.

@olavf @RufusJCooter @talia_christine @Lee_in_Iowa That's a variation of my favorite accordion joke. The version I know is a little longer. It starts by saying an accordion player had accidentally left their accordion in an unlocked car. When they realized their mistake, they rushed back, but it was too late: someone had gotten into the car and left a second accordion.
@packy mine too, only I couldn't remember it entirely so went for a short one :-)
@olavf @packy wheezy squeeze is the key to please- are we in accord?

@RufusJCooter
I love klezmer. can’t wait to hear your take on it.

also, I just got a new ukulele and couldn’t think of what to name him. I knew I wanted a name that sounded like it could belong to an old school country blues player so… I’m stealing your first name. Rufus is *perfect* for him.

think of him like he’s your 4-stringed godson.

@howlinhobbit Will do!

However!

It's necessary that all of my godchildren have a correct understanding of "the big flood".

So, y'all need to listen to this:

@howlinhobbit (the correct understanding of the 'big flood' being, this is an entirely unreasonable amount of rain, and I'm going to need to speak to the manager)

@RufusJCooter ha! I see what you did there. Godmother of Rock.

listening to Sister Rosetta is no hardship. she’s one of the all too many females that rock history has overlooked.

here’s a pic of Rufus in my introductory toot. you can see why I wanted a blues guy name. (hope I did this right.)

Attached: 1 image new addition to the family. as yet unnamed. he’s a #Gretsch, #concert scale #ukulele. picked him up today at Elderly Instruments in Lansing, MI. initial impressions: 1. damn, he’s LOUD! 2. compared to most of my small collection, he’s HUGE as well. my banjolele comes close & my Kala UBass beats all of them. 3. the width of the fretboard makes certain chords easier to play cleanly. some video coming along shortly. also may be time to take another “family picture” of my stringed instruments.
