I know $12 USD is a lot of money for some people, so to celebrate 1000 sales, I'm giving away 1000 copies of The Pocket Guide to Debugging (honour system: please only use the free link if you can't afford $12!)

Here’s the link, use code BUYONEGIVEONE at checkout to get a free copy https://store.wizardzines.com/products/the-pocket-guide-to-debugging-pdf

(I can't disable the billing address prompt but you can just enter a fake address like 123 Fake st, new york NY 12345, (123) 123 4567 :))

The Pocket Guide to Debugging (PDF)

@b0rk I chuckled at the 'ew' in ew york
@daskaloskakos oops that was a typo, I love new york :)

@b0rk Thank you so much! I will buy something else in spring when the money situation is better!

Great holidays for you!

@JiSe you too! happy debugging :)
@b0rk The perfect stocking stuffer for my boys!
@b0rk looks amazing, bought a copy!
@b0rk I wasn’t familiar with your work; glad I took a look. Loving the bite size format! Bought 6 to gift to friends. 😀 It’s thoughtful that you are offering for free so other people have access too.
@b0rk is there a chapter preview beyond the ToC?
@ulrich yep there are some sample pages at https://wizardzines.com/zines/debugging-guide/! Also if you scroll back through my past toots here you'll see lots of stuff

@b0rk Super kind. Thank you so much for your hard work 🙇
@b0rk getting a bunch on the corporate card for all my junior devs! Thanks for writing this.

@b0rk I think this is a great idea. I love your Zines and just bought it.

Nobody really teaches you debugging; you're just expected to be good at it

@b0rk you're awesome! I bought one. Much ❤️
@b0rk is there any way to buy two copies but only receive one (with the second copy being added to your pool for giving away)?
@b0rk Thank you so much! 🙂

@b0rk I'm about to buy this for my 15yr old daughter.

Do you mind if she shares this with her comp sci teacher?

Also surprised test cases only get a 1 page mention.

@b0rk Bonus round. Having bought I might nudge towards making a unit test an explicit thing.
@b0rk @thegrugq and this helped me with a decision to become a paying customer! Thanks for doing this & I know what I’m reading tonight.
@b0rk
you are a goddess, both for writing this and for giving copies away to the less fortunate
@b0rk This is so kind, thank you! If there's a way some of us can "donate" a free copy by paying $24, happy to do that too!
@b0rk Thank you, you're very considerate, even with countries in lower income that's something I don't see often.
@b0rk hi! Is this digital or printed? How do you distribute the digital or print the printed? My wife writes fiction and we use Amazon KDP. Curious to see if there are other tools and platforms available.
@botolo86 it's digital and printed. I use Shopify / SendOwl for digital and Girlie Press / White Squirrel (in Seattle) for printing and shipping.
@botolo86 I think something like KDP or IngramSpark is probably better for fiction though, I have different constraints because of the zine format
@b0rk thanks! I’ll take a look!
@b0rk Congrats on the 1000 sales. Bought the print + PDF version. Looking forward to reading.💜
@b0rk How kind! Thank you! 🙏
@b0rk Thank you! Don’t need the free copy, but this looks cute and just ordered! ✨
@b0rk going to buy one because your zines are awesome, but also because I love that you are giving away some for people that can't afford it. <3
@b0rk I bought this without hesitation, knowing it will be worth it. Thanks for your work.
@b0rk
Thanks for sharing! I checked the website and couldn't stand a temptation to buy a Christmas gift for myself, so I ordered a 12-books bundle 🙃
@b0rk Although I couldn't afford the $12 right now, it's entirely possible I will buy it anyway in the future. (I've borrowed books before and liked them so much I bought my own copy.)
@b0rk Also, thank you for giving away free copies! My 8-year-old twins are also starting to show an interest in programming, so I'm going to have them read it as well.
@b0rk
It's very interesting ☺️
