I am at that age where I am torn between trying to do creative, positive things and obsessively remembering every stupid and bad thing I have ever said and done that make the former undertaking pointless.
The mistakes are proof that you're actually doing something creative, rather than chasing the exact same gold star you got in kindergarten. All those "stupid and bad" things are just growth rings.
That's how you get better at stuff. An expert is someone who already knows most of the wrong ways to do something, and doesn't use those ways anymore.
