San Francisco politics over the past year gave us an early taste of Elon Musk's Twitter.

An upside-down land where facts don't matter and the oligarchs bully their reality into being.

No accident that David Sacks -- a Musk Paypal buddy who is being talked about as Twitter's next CEO -- was central to the Chesa Boudin recall.

If you want to know what kind of world they are trying to make, study the upside-down disinformation landscape of SF politics.

The Quiet Political Rise of David Sacks, Silicon Valley’s Prophet of Urban Doom

Like his pals Elon Musk and Peter Thiel, Sacks is using his wealth and online clout to unite conservatives and former leftists in a reactionary movement against liberalism.

The New Republic

To me, the main question of their experiment was: Can we use disinformation, scapegoating and technology to radicalize Democratic voters into taking conservative political positions?

Now they have to scale this idea, sowing doubt and creating division, all to empower conservatives who will, in turn, empower the oligarchs to do as they please.

Part ideology, part business.

Just as with Trump.

@gilduran David Sacks is horrible but so is Chesa Boudin. The two are not mutually exclusive. It’s really insulting to pretend that SF voters are easily swayed by a guy like Sacks. We wanted Boudin out. Period.
@gilduran " bully their reality into being. " is my new favorite phrase. So apt.
