we have been collecting data for almost eight years on every fatal police shooting across the U.S. but we didn’t build it to last this long. so we’ve spent the better part of the past two years rebuilding our backend for the long haul and adding fields and features to our front end database. https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/investigations/police-shootings-database/

@databae am I the only one that finds “Fatal Force” a touch offensive? Scrolling through the list, most people are armed with a weapon yet this title makes it sound like they are randomly shooting innocent people. I think the narrative should look at how we as a society have failed by allowing people to fall so far that they get in a violent confrontation with the police via drugs, poverty, racism etc etc, instead of “cops bad, criminals good” or vice versa.
