Not sure if this is going to work but we're trying to package #Lumiri (unity8) of #UbuntuTouch for #NixOS 🌐 https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/207080 Together with the display server Mir. Would be nice to play with mobile #Linux

@pi_crew aint that pretty much backward focused as Linux is going #Wayland?

@insl @pi_crew not really, while currently the Mir version we are shipping on most devices is an older one, current versions of Mir that we hope to ship soon do implement Wayland. But on PinePhone we do use Wayland.

Don't forget that Wayland is a protocol.

We recommend you to give a look to Mir as it has evolved a lot in recent years:

Mir is the fast, open and secure display server to unlock next-generation user experiences. Mir runs on a range of Linux powered devices including traditional desktops, IoT and embedded products.

@ubports @pi_crew thank you. Not an expert myself, I see the difference in using #any_mainline_Linux app with #plasma_mobile versus native apps in #Lomiri. (OK there's Libertine i've read)
@pi_crew It's Lomiri, not Lumiri ;)
But good luck, hope it works, keep us updated on how it goes.

@pi_crew The more things in nixpkgs, the more comfy life on nixOS is >:3

Anyhow, big respect for all the packaging work :D
