@dvd @wxyc I have about 17 of them, for sure. Especially annoying example: having to deal with the fact that Chrome has built-in "https everywhere" enforcement -- including for streaming audio, meaning that if we want our embedded web player to still work in Chrome, I gotta either enable TLS in IceCast (UGH), or pointlessly proxy a perfectly good IceCast server behind a TLS-terminating proxy. All in order to encrypt an audio stream that is also available over the public airwaves . . .

I'm pretty sure WXYC was the very first place I heard a song by The Shaggs (probably 1980 or '81, when I was living in Durham for... reasons).
It broke my brain in a very particular way, and puzzling over precisely why it got under my skin the way it did was a background thought project across years to come which probably helped re-make my brain in a subtly but unmistakably different configuration.
When most people tell a story like that, it involves acid!
