Oh, they both gave us economic collapses.

Now Youngkin wants to try it in Virginia. But underfunding important services and functions of government and underpaying people are all part of their game plan.

Absolutely. It's unfair to just write off Dem voters in red or purple states. Instead we should be helping them get word out to their friends & neighbors on why their state(and lives) would be better under Democrat leadership and representation.

@AgentCarter_SSR @RJA @Domacoblue Exactly. Jessica Piper in Missouri is a great example of this. She persuaded people and flipped some of their votes, but it wasn’t enough. I think Dirt Road Dems is a group that works on rural issues. We need this in every state.

@RJA Stopping putting resources into Virginia could mean losing a Democratic Senate seat there. Bad idea in a 51-49 Senate with a lot of races to defend in 2024.

I'm a former Virginia resident and I lived there under Republican governors, a divided general assembly, and a senator from each party. Of course I voted straight Democratic. I lived in Democratic Arlington County and though I cared about regressive state politics, my neighborhood was fairly insulated from them. After I moved to Maryland, friend after friend because civil rights outweighed cheaper gas prices.

I did some GOTV activity there in 2017 and was gratified to see my former state flip completely blue. I was thrilled for my friends still living there, and then dismayed to see the regression last year. My friends did not vote for Youngkin and they and their kids do not deserve what's happening.

Virginia chose the red path. Texas and Fl chose it. You all can worry about it all you want. I am done . They all had clear choices with excellent candidates who would have voted in their best interests yet they chose the R's. Now when I see the consequences I gotta say they all wanted it. Sorry not sorry.

My state is heavily gerrymandered red, like many others in the South. My friends and I vote blue every election, which is like screaming into the void but we show up and vote anyway. We talk to people who vote for repubicans and explain why voting for democrats would be better for education, eliminating poverty and domestic violence, and so forth. We tell them how our elected officials vote against our best interests which is why we're at the bottom of every good list and the top of every bad one. It's hard but we keep trying. But thanks for expressing your opinion that we're not worthy of having nice things. Your white liberalism is breathtaking.

It was better run when I moved and I was able to work and get an education. Now I have a family here. I don’t deserve what Florida has voted for. You can sit with me. As long as I've been able to vote, I've been represented by a Democrat in the House of Representatives, but as some of those have been in purple states, I've had some Republican senators and governors. And until next month, two of the bluest states still have Republican governors!

We need to convince movable people or those who don't vote that voting for Democrats is in their best interest, not write off entire states if they chose badly in the last round.

@Domacoblue @RJA seems like an awful attitude. What are people in any of those states supposed to do? Not everyone can move to seattle. Blue strongholds are expensive areas.

Actual people are stuck in those areas being targeted by awful conservative policies.

This last election had more incentive to vote then ever in my lifetime. I voted, you voted(assuming). Why didnt the D voters show up and speak up? The R's did. I sent alot of money to Beto and Val Demings.I live in Wa.! Dems need to say ok and move on. Show them the train is leaving and to join us and vote for democracy or accept the results. Tough love? Maybe.
