Should I set up a dedicated Mastodon account for my blog, E-PluribusUnum.org? Or an organizational account for the Digital Democracy Project?

Should I set up a dedicated account for @OpenGov, which has been a Twitter-only account since 2017, when the Trump White House abandoned the namespace?

I’m thinking through how I’m approaching social media in 2023 & would welcome feedback from folks here.

@digiphile The more you can separate from the other site, I think the better at the moment. I don't know if you abandon it completely, but you slowly pull back. That's my approach. I've decided to stop posting there, but I continue to monitor it. I think whatever happens, there is room for more than one platform.

@ron_miller @digiphile I'm waiting until microblogging networks can relay social messages to each other like phone carriers currently do.
