I grew up mostly in the #Episcopalian Church, very #HighChurch, & simultaneously a group called #Shalom, a #nondenominational community that grew directly from #CharismaticCatholic or #CatholicEvangelical movement. Yes, that was a thing. #Catholics, nuns even, playing guitars & speaking in #tongues (which I'd learn much later on can be called #glossolalia; yes, I definitely did do that). So I can't *precisely* call myself an #Exvangelical, but I'm definitely in the same biosphere, so to speak.
@Josiah_Mannion Wow, I had never heard of that!. Thanks for sharing part of your story.
@natehanson Our little Shalom Community met in the basement Great Hall of the local Catholic Church, and was definitely a tightly interwoven community whose daily lives were lived together, with Spiritual Elders, etc. Many of the families even lived conscientiously close together, in the same neighborhoods. Shalom's death can be tied directly to joining the national group #PeopleOfPraise, which you may recognize as the group to which SCOTUS Justice Amy Coney Barrett has been linked.
