Google has announced integration of DigiLocker with the Files by Google app allowing Android users to access verified documents directly from within the Files app, the official file management app on Android.

DigiLocker has over 137 million registered users and the service has over 2,300 issuers.

A 2017 amendment to the IT Act, 2000 stated that the issued documents provided and shared through DigiLocker are at par with the corresponding physical certificates.

This integration, announced at the company's annual #GoogleForIndia event in New Delhi, will allow Android users to seamlessly organize their most-used documents on their smartphones for convenient and private access on-the-go.
