My dad & stepmom have been on the trip of a lifetime for the past three months.
They boarded their #sailboat in NY and they’ve been heading down the east coast since. Their goal is to reach Miami and then sail over to the Bahamas. Then they’ll turn around and head back to NY.
My dad’s a lifelong #sailor so he knows his way around a vessel. My stepmom is totally new to it and she’s been having a blast.
The sea takes a toll on ya if you’re a #landlubber.
Today they’re going to dry-dock the boat and rent a car to come home for one month. Gotta check in on reality from time to time.
Dad’s able to work remotely and his clients have no idea he’s been on this voyage, haha.
It’s been cold! They’re in Charleston, SC and it’s 35°F. They’re warm when sailing, but the nights have gotten chilly.
They’ve sailed roughly 1,200 miles since they left in late September.
Looking forward to seeing them.
