Drove with my family from the bay down to Santa Barbara yesterday in the Polestar. Typically a 5 hour drive but it took 9 hours due to several broken or at capacity charging stations. This is the 2nd straight anxious NorCal <> SoCal trip. The infrastructure just isn’t there yet, at least for non-Tesla.
It was my first time getting below 10% charge though. Turtle mode activated and acceleration was dramatically decreased. So slow I wouldn’t get on the freeway.
So, feeling a bit defeated today and hard to not feel like we gotta stick to the Sienna on trips like this.
Now having been through some of these, it’s not so much RANGE anxiety as it is INFRASTRUCTURE anxiety. Don’t blame the car, blame the lack of investments in the infra needed to support them. It’s kind of a joke as of end of 2022 across central California
