A kind observation that exclusively calling this place "Mastodon" has a bit similar energy as saying "I just sent a GMail."

"Fediverse" (or "fedi") is a more inclusive, general term.

@rysiek @axbom Interesting. I haven't looked into this for a couple of years and was surprised to see Funkwhale is still going. I had a hiatus after disengaging from my last instance and falling back on the wagon with birdsite. I will look into it again.
