Question for parents, especially of young children (boosts appreciated): I read an expert opinion at some point that espoused free for all meals where kids get to eat whatever they want (like dessert), whenever they want, with the promise that theyโ€™ll begin to choose balanced diets of their own accord. If youโ€™ve tried this, has it worked out?

@briankung I haven't done completely free-for-all meals but my toddler (third kid) is particularly stubborn so I've basically had to adopt this approach. I start saying yes to chocolate but say he can have that WITH dinner. Or yes you can have the junk you ask for, but what are you going to have with it? Its not fool proof but works better at getting him to eat the good stuff than yelling, and is less miserable for us all, so I'll take it.
