I was shopping earlier and I figured out items worked out to $40 exactly.
Rather than faf about with paywave, as the operator was scanning items I just put 2 $20s on the belt and saved probably 7 or 8 seconds.

Most weeks I don't actually have cash in my wallet, but with Christmas coming up, the opportunities to buy from random stalls and small independent sellers increases.

@venzann Always carry some when #cycling after (years ago) riding up to the visitor centre on #MtTaranaki and finding, due to power & phone out, no EFTPOS to buy lunch or drink!

I didn't manage to participate in the poll, however I do carry 100$+ as that is how much a taxi from city center, to where I live costs in the middle of the night. That way I am never stranded.
