Any book recommendations that celebrate non-white cultures, races, or ethnicities? Could be fiction, a memoir, a cookbook, almost anything.

My workplace has a wonderful Diversity & Inclusion ERG (employee resource group) focused on cultural background and heritage - and it's sponsoring a book club.

The key word here is *celebrate*. I have "Homegoing" by Yaa Gyasi on my reading list, but I understand it may be a little dark to qualify as a celebration per se.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Just to add... we're trying out a different format for the book club.

In this format, everyone reads a book THEY want to read. Then they get to tell the group about what they've read.

Hopefully this keeps people more engaged (they don't have to read books they're not personally excited about) and exposes all of us to ideas and writing we'd never have run across otherwise.

Should be fun!

@jeb I love this idea! Such a fun way to learn what your friends are passionate about.

I think so too! I ran across the idea at "A Radically Different Book Club" Meetup in Austin, Texas. The club kind of dispersed but I hope the idea will live on :)
