Boosting is faster and easier and reaches the same audience. The only difference is you can't add a message.

Making your own post with a link (which results in a preview) takes only a couple more seconds and accomplishes the same thing as a QT, doesn't it?

The tweets I find most valuable on Twitter are often a response to an article or thread that adds some significant commentary. These are often QTs.
If someone I follow responds with commentary in as a reply on Mastodon, will it show up in my feed the same way a QT would?
@jmarkgilbert I don't think so, but they can post a link or a screenshot
