Awfully funny watching how members of different generations approach the Mastodon tools.

Boomers: Barely here. They're on Facebook

GenX / Older Millenials: OH yeah we remember this. *Sets up account and moves on, unflapped*

Young millenials / GenZ: OMGWTFBBQ IS THIS? I HAVE TO MAKE DECISIONS? I DON'T LIKE THIS. TELL ME WHAT TO DO, DADDY.

PS: Since there are a whole lot of you who somehow seem to think I'm dissing whomever:

THIS IS A JOKE. I AM SORRY YOU ARE A HUMORLESS FUCK.

@JenWojcik Take that back. We Boomers are here, we're more used to tech change than all of you. we've adopted and abandoned more apps and platforms than you could imagine. My 1st intro to computers featured punch cards, I quit that, but still ended up running a Retailer Top 100 website 10 years later.And I know more Dos shortcuts than you.

@MHowell

Touchy much?

@JenWojcik I might ask you the same. It wasn't meant to be snippy, so what are you projecting?
@JenWojcik @MHowell honestly we’re no being touchy so much as reacting to what, to us, is ageism. I personally dislike sweeping generalizations based on physical characteristics.
@CatDragon @JenWojcik I have friends who tell me how Millennials are "this way" and Gen Z is "this way" and everyone is shaped by what they experienced. Every generation experiences the same forces, but each person reacts differently. Generalizing slots people in places that may not fit.

@MHowell @CatDragon

This was LITERALLY NOT AN IDICTMENT ON BOOMERS.

BUT YOU MADE IT SO.

My god this is why nobody can fucking stand you. Every damned time you make it all about you.

It's not.
