This is a monumental victory for transgender students in Durham Public Schools, and comprehensive policies like these need to be implemented nationwide.

the protections are vast. One policy states that you can't require things like emails, school papers, etc to use legal names - they must respect trans students names.

Another section guarantees trans restroom and locker room access according to gender identity.

These policies need to be adopted by school boards across the country.

It's wonderful to see schools move forward protecting trans students after the GOP's dismal anti-trans showing.
