Musk blamed a Twitter account for an alleged stalker. Police see no link.

The incident last week underscored how Elon Musk’s personal concerns can influence his governance of a social media platform used by hundreds of millions of people.

The Washington Post
“A confrontation between a member of Elon Musk’s security team and an alleged stalker that Musk blamed on a Twitter account that tracked his jet took place at a gas station 26 miles from LAX and 23 hours after the @[email protected] account had last located the jet”
“The timing and location of the confrontation cast doubt on Musk’s assertion that the account had posted real-time ‘assassination coordinates’ that threatened his family and led to the confrontation.“
It does seem like this is a stalker and he is disturbed. The connection to the flight tracking accounts is unsubstantiated.

@juddlegum

we just don’t know

wh =

EM = disinfo

@juddlegum Absolutely. E got paranoid from the event, though. And that's sort of understandable that he changed his risk posture because of it, even though his response was obviously unacceptable. (E doesn't have the frame of mind to run a site like Twitter.)
@juddlegum @Robotbeat I don’t recall any such concern when Libs of TikTok hounded Keffals halfway across the world. Indeed, I recall Musk being sympathetic to the “cause”.
@TomWills @juddlegum Exactly. People are deaf to stochastic terrorism of people that aren't in their tribe. I hope this gives E pause to self-reflect, but I don't expect it.
@TomWills @juddlegum @Robotbeat Or when reporters tracked Justin Trudeau to Vancouver (so they could whine about it).
@juddlegum
The connection to the flight tracking Twitter account has always and blatantly been nonsense.
@juddlegum it also appears he was stalking Grimes and not Elon or the kid. That he was obsessed with her.

@Danielsand @juddlegum My issue was Musk painting a target on Jack Sweeney's back - potentially via some of Musk's ardent acolytes.

Musk used this unrelated situation as a pretext to put Jack's life in danger.

@juddlegum So basically Elon used this minor incident to arbitrarily get rid of people he planned on banning all along? No way.
@juddlegum anyone who’s NOT disturbed wrt Elon isn’t paying attention 😂
@juddlegum How disturbed do you have to be to manipulate someone stalking your family into a profit opportunity? Elon is just as sick as his stalker.
@juddlegum Perhaps this is Mr.Musk’s own doing? A possible form of self harm. As an example; A very bright super successful entrepreneur with fears (warranted or not) that he is in harms way due to his notoriety, buys a notorious media powerhouse that guarantees greatly increased public exposure then acts out in ways that increase his exposure and risk. This sounds like self sabotage that allows for projection of his personal risk on the public he invites in. Go figure…
@juddlegum I'm shocked, shocked.
