Mastodon has done something I never thought possible: it's given me hope for the future of the internet.

I've always assumed the internet was in an inevitable spiral to the bottom with more and more closed-ecosystem websites taking over and smaller forums and blogs dying off.

Now, with Mastodon/ActivityPub/Fediverse on the rise I think there's actually hope, not only hope for a fix, but for a much better internet moving forward! Maybe someday I'll be uploading to Pony.Tube instead of YouTube!
