My ask that you give it a chance here by making a few posts and following a few accounts.

When you first log in, Mastodon can look a little quiet. That's because there's no algorithm trying to silo you in

@david My friends and I have liked running pope.party (not that I didn't like being on your instance! 💙) because *we* are in control of the "algorithm" (in this case, the Federated tab). It's a change, sure, but this is necessary to leave Musk in the dust.

@david This is so key! I'm unsure of the volume of new signups, it's probably way too high to do this, but I found it super helpful when Aphyr would post welcome toots linking the newly approved signups. It makes it easy to find and follow new people in the instance.

@david Probably one of the new converts. Sorry if I did things a bit out of order, I will own what I need to own here. I saw my acceptance, and did most of my preliminary over my phone. @Mendie_Taoma you didn't do anything wrong! You can't do anything ahead of time before joining. My suggestion was just to give it some time before you write it off as inactive.
