The thing that's going to fuck Twitter with that new policy on linking is not blocking Mastodon links.

It's blocking Insta.

Politics Twitter is shouty but not actually the bulk of the platform.

That's celebs and lifestyle. And that stuff is pure insta crossover territory.

@garius if the French Minister for Digital's assessment is correct - that it disqualifies Twitter as a social media platform and makes them editorial media, and thus legally culpable for anything going on on their platform - I expect they have more to worry about than Instagram influencers!
