Re #worldcupfinal I have 2 questions.
Why were they able to make 6 and 7 subs respectively? (I can’t find any reference to anything above 5 on FIFA site).
Does argentina now keep the current trophy? (As Brazil did when they won their third).

@paddo I think the rules are 5 subs (in 3 instances) as base case. + 1 more if game goes into extra time. +1 more if a player has a suspected concussion (ie any bump on the head) - in this case, both teams get +1 extra sub to make it fair. France did this for the Rabiot sub. (IIRC)

The sub rules are that during regular time each side is allowed 5 subs during 3 stoppages in play

Additionally, extra time provides each side with an additional sub & stoppage

Finally, FRA was able to make a 7th sub at the referee's discretion due to the suspected concussion of Rabiot

As to the trophy, the current rules don't provide for it to be won outright; each winning fed instead receives a replica per win
