I am starting to think through a fun #hockey analytics project on github. You can follow my progress here. https://github.com/users/faithlierheimer/projects/3/views/1. I feel competent enough as a data person now that this sounds fun, so that's what I'm going to work on as I have pockets of time. #ColoradoAvalanche #NHL #hockeyfan #hockeyanalytics

@faithlierheimer See, I need to get to this level, and then do the same thing for Packers football. Then I can use this project to land my dream job as general analyst person for The Pat McAfee show. I can do all the analysis, but not the beginning pipeline/git things
@arynn yessss love this vision!!! I fuckin hate git, especially the setup of it. It’s hard to get good at it bc you usually only do it once every job or whatever so how tf do you remember what to do??? πŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺ
@faithlierheimer @arynn if y'all ever need help with git things I am here for ya πŸ‘‹
@mariah @arynn thank youuuuuuuu queen i will more than likely take you up on this. it's something i know i need and want to be better at.
@mariah @faithlierheimer ask me after I get done with the dbt corise class with @emily πŸ™ƒ I can only handle (barely) one additional work-like thing outside of work at a time.
@faithlierheimer 1000000% if my super good memory skills don't apply to git I will probably cry and give up πŸ™ƒπŸ˜…
@faithlierheimer if metabase is feeling taxing, check out @evidence_dev (disc: I work there).
@matsonj has done some cool stuff with it on the NBA: https://mdsinabox.com

πŸ‘‹ happy to help! I love sports + data and have been doing some fun stuff with this repo - https://github.com/matsonj/nba-monte-carlo

It has all the environmental bits sorted out - you can just fork and replace the parts you need!!
