Please stop cross-posting your twitter feed automatically to Mastodon. When you cross-post but never engage with your Mastodon followers, you're treating this as a syndication platform rather than a community. It comes off arrogant, and it clutters the timeline.
Heya @chadloder “automatically”? Hmm yeah frankly I haven’t really figured out this site yet. Why are posts greyed out? 🤷🏻‍♀️ What’s up with the “federated” feed? It’s like tl on meth 🙃 sigh. Hope ur well.
@astrogirl The federated feed is everyone on your server, plus everyone they follow, but only the posts which are set to public visibility (the globe icon in the web interface). There's a setting to pause it then manually refresh, so you get snapshots rather than a deluge.
@timtfj @astrogirl Yes, in my opinion manual refresh gives a better experience.
@bjornivarsson @astrogirl I feel it's better for all the feeds—for the slow ones, it makes it a lot easier to keep track of what you've read.
