Okay, Ottawa-specific question:

What's a good cheap snowblower for a small driveway?

I *hate* shovelling, but I also don't have enough driveway to justify one of those $3k monsters. Plus, I'd prefer something battery-powered if possible.

The problem is that Ottawa snow tends to be wet, so I need something powerful enough to handle that while still being on the low end of things.

Anyone have any good experiences? Or bad experiences?

@suetanvil Stages. With wet snow, you're going to want a multistage blower. How about the EGO? 24" self propelled 2-stage ?

@skylos

It looks nice, but *pricey*.

@suetanvil its half the 'unobtanium' level of $3K you deprecated. For the same price you could get a gas three stage though.

@skylos

I have this probably unrealistic dream that there's something in the $300 range that is good enough for me.

But you're valuing your money over your time. It only got like 2 HP of power and you're talking wet ottawa snow.

@suetanvil you'll want to use the beefiest extension cord you can afford... a 100 foot 10 gauge can run as much as that blower.
