The thing that's going to fuck Twitter with that new policy on linking is not blocking Mastodon links.

It's blocking Insta.

Politics Twitter is shouty but not actually the bulk of the platform.

That's celebs and lifestyle. And that stuff is pure insta crossover territory.

@garius I wonder if they even try to enforce this across the board or if the inclusion of Instagram, Facebook, etc. is just the proverbial fig leaf.

@ldcolton @garius No, I think he is also worried about "I've moved to Facebook/Insta, find me there". People are leaving and he is trying to make it harder.
