The thing that's going to fuck Twitter with that new policy on linking is not blocking Mastodon links.

It's blocking Insta.

Politics Twitter is shouty but not actually the bulk of the platform.

That's celebs and lifestyle. And that stuff is pure insta crossover territory.

@garius TBH the linktree ban looks insane.

I wonder what would happen if I put a link to my own personal domain that had links to one of the banned social media sites.

@grepppo @garius I was wondering that too. If people have a website or blog they've usually got a link to it in their Twitter profile. That could just link to a page with all their links. It's a little extra friction yes, but no more than using linktree.
