I was very concerned, initially, about how difficult it would be to re-build all of the communities from Twitter elsewhere.

No doubt it will take time, but I'm *much* more optimistic, now, that it will happen and within a reasonable amount of time. Some of the international ones will be more difficult; need to think about how to handle that.

@constantrebel55
Because people in our communities "want" to stay in touch, no doubt.
I have some friends abroad in "difficult" countries, I have their contacts and they have mine, I think I'll just send them my @ and if they join me they could bring their friends and rebuild much of what we have in a new place, here for example.
The immediacy of information is lacking for now but we can find a way, yes it will take time.

@skip_divided All good points. David Frum echoed what you said about "difficult countries", asking what they're supposed to do as Twitter collapses.

For now, I'm dividing my time over multiple services while I, and everyone else, transitions. On Twitter, I avoid the trends because they're now mostly full of far-Right trash. I stick to my TL and custom lists. Hopefully, the newer services will be able to accommodate global needs in a reasonable amount of time.
