Twitter has 450 million monthly active users as of November 2022. Elon would have to do something much worse than suspend some good accounts to get a significant percentage of the accounts to leave. We have a better chance of getting accounts to leave based on integrity and ethics. We may be able to impact Elon by getting the big name / high profile accounts to leave. But getting half of twitter to leave (225 million accounts) would take some Elon action more horrendous than I could imagine.

Mastodon is growing and has become the favorite migration landing spot for former twitter accounts, but it would have to grow significantly to take on 100 million former twitter users.

@Exoticgamora 7 or 8 years at that rate. But I bet it speeds up as it goes, which it has done so far. So maybe like 2 years.
