To all the people here and on the other new sites, please stop telling those of us transitioning away from Twitter, what we should or should not post, do, talk about etc. you are making this place just as toxic as the bird site.
This is difficult enough leaving 9 year friendships and people I truly care about.

@4_the_babies consider that the sites aren't new, you are new to the sites. You are joining communities new to you. They didn't start as Twitter life rafts. You have my most sincere sympathies that you are losing your community formed at Twitter. Hopefully those 9 year friendships will survive using different community tools. However, they are different communities with potentially different rules and etiquettes.
