If Mastodon diehards want this to be The Next Place after Twitter, the move is to bend over backwards to listen to disabled and Black community about what they do and don't need in social media space.

Even if it's challenging.

Even if it makes you uncomfortable.

These are power user communities, whether folks like it or not.

@gwensnyder Personally speaking, the next twitter is the last thing I want. I left twitter for a reason, to get away from all the millennial culture wars.
@C0_WAV @gwensnyder millennial culture wars?

@mawhrin @gwensnyder Indeed. Personally, my belief is that if we all agree not to be arseholes to each other, we'd no longer have to worry about whose group is most important.

Whether humanity is capable of that is another question, but it would be better than dividing ourselves in squabbling groups and letting the powers that be steal all our money and put it in the Cayman Islands while we're distracted with hatred for each other.

@C0_WAV @gwensnyder fascinating. didn't realise that reminding white folks they're responsible for their shit is such novelty approach.

@mawhrin @gwensnyder Well, I can't speak for white folk, but personally I try to deal kindly with everyone regardless of melanin production. Everyone else is as human as I am.

If you have a specific charge to bring against me, then do so. I'm many things, but a racist is not one of them.

It shouldn't matter, if you're black, white, yellow, red, gay, straight, bi, pan, trans.. whatever. Everyone should be treated with a fundamental respect. If they commit crime, then put them on fair trial.

@mawhrin @gwensnyder I don't envy your attention span. It took me less than 90 seconds to write it, let alone read it.
@C0_WAV @gwensnyder you should've spent more time writing it and even more time making it shorter and having more substance.
@mawhrin @gwensnyder How the fuck would you know? TL;DR, remember?
@C0_WAV years of experience in dealing with people who could never find an adjective they didn't love.
@mawhrin And I've spent years dealing with people trying to wriggle out of trying to defend a position that's indefensible, and they know it. I didn't ask you anything remotely difficult or complicated.

@C0_WAV mate, you can fuck right off.

you used the phrase β€œmillenial culture wars” to dismiss the voices of people who were telling you that the existing mastodon culture is predominantly white, predominantly exclusive and, yes, very anti-black.

that tells me, that you're not really interested in examining your own biases.

your later comments tell me clearly that you're loving the sound of your own voice, and the warm feeling of being the righteous one, and that you really hate being challenged on either of your beliefs.

do not let me waste more of your time, and do have a perfectly adequate life.

@mawhrin "@C0_WAV mate, you can fuck right off."

And that says it all. That is why we on the left of politics always lose. No cohesion whatsoever.

Having a hissy fit the moment someone questions you is a hell of weakness for any political debater.

@C0_WAV i already asked you to not engage me further; thanks.
