Using a bitly link is a great idea. Simple, but these people are so lacking in imagination even that goes past their limited ability.
FranIAm@Franterest26 @FionaDobson @baroquepawel @georgetakei bit.ly is a URL shortener. A side effect is to mask the eventual targer URL, which means Twitter can't block it easily. (They can always retrieve the URL, find the target, and decide what to do. But that's more code, and a ton of those people either left or were fired.)
