A thought: Let’s spend less time talking about Elon Musk and a lot more time talking about the #ColoradoRiver.
Everyone should read @ianjames this week on #ClimateChange in the @latimes

“The reservoirs could drop so low that #water would no longer flow past #HooverDam in two years. That dire scenario … would cut off water supplies to California, Arizona and Mexico.”

Risk of 'dead pool' looms at Colorado River meeting

Colorado River reservoirs continue to fall toward 'dead pool' levels, prompting growing calls for urgent action to cut water use in seven states.

@craigawelch @ianjames @latimes I really feel like the feds are going to have to step in, because it seems like no one wants to actually DO anything.

I find the arguments for removing Glen Canyon dam and draining Lake Powell pretty convincing, both from an ecological perspective and in terms of water management. Of course, that still doesn't address the problem of using reservoirs for water storage in the first place, given water loss to evaporation. Not to mention draining the Colorado River basin to serve agriculture in an area that cannot naturally support it.
@craigawelch @ianjames @latimes Since her name is Lake, I always wondered what Keri's position on this was. #crickets
