With these ToS changes, Elon Musk is making official what has already been happening:

https://help.twitter.com/en/rules-and-policies/personal-information

Antfascist publishing on twitter is essentially dead. Accounts posting substantive material about fascists and the far-right who have not yet been banned will be.

Having a secure website and social media platform like Mastodon with a trusted admin is absolutely essential. Also we should be archiving our shit on there and making it available and searchable through other channels

@AnarchoDoggo they're also clearly written to allow for fear mongering aimed at LGBTQ events though, since "gossip, rumors and accusations" are apparently allowed?

@AnarchoDoggo The moment he started unbanning nazis was the day I said goodbye. Here's practically announcing that Twitter is for white people only, for the glorious members of the Aryan race.

Of course they'll change the rules to benefit themselves.

Had Musk been a decent person, he would have committed to keep, add and uphold anti racist measures.

Twitter must die.

@AnarchoDoggo: So, he has realised that it's impossible to have a stable collective with both queer furries and Nazis in it, and he's decided that the right thing to do is kicking out the queer furries for anti-fascist activities.

He'll have an explicitly Nazi website soon.

@AnarchoDoggo

Well, for search purposes may I suggest:

#AntiFascism #TwitterFascism #MastodonDesign #MastodonCuration #MastodonSearch #TwitterMigration
#KolektivaAntiFascist

As some tags to help until a redesign gets implemented?

@Homebrewandhacking @AnarchoDoggo I’m thinking the hashtag follow Friday on Fridays might be really helpful for all the #twittermigration #mastodonmigration folks on a continuing basis since so many have a hard time finding people

@voron @AnarchoDoggo

My opinion from following in the region of 2.4 TERFs back to their profiles to block them (a much more satisfying and personal process than a chain block) is that they'd often embed themselves as socialists or # fbpe types.

But I'd be blocking them for outright transphobic comments.

So I'm pretty wary of such things.

@Homebrewandhacking what I mean is that we need proper full text search for the decades of critical archival material from researchers, journalists, etc; stuff is already being lost (even if it made it through to Internet Archive, the searchability on there is not at all replacement for what we had on twitter as far as research is concerned).

What we need is a mass import of full twitter backups for all interested parties; get all those archives into something like Solr and have a massive database so we can still do sophisticated search based on users / date ranges, complex search terms, etc.

So like hashtags are great and all, but not at all what I'm referring to when I mean we should be saving research archives and making them available

@AnarchoDoggo Yes. OK. If my curation is annoying you, I can delete it.
@Homebrewandhacking no you're fine, was just clarifying about the scope of the problem
@AnarchoDoggo
Yeah. I wish more #twittermigration peeps would include hashtags. It's impossible to find their posts otherwise, unless they interact with me somehow so I check out their account. On the other hand it's kinda nice not having to fear any ol random person finding my posts that I don't WANT to be searched for
.. Especially when I post followers-only. Getting (some) control over who finds my posts sure is nice!
