Have you been on Mastodon for a few weeks and still have zero followers? Or two followers, three, four? Left alone in the dark after everyone saying “Join Mastodon it’s great here.”
Well reply here and I will follow you back. And please people, follow them. I’m struggling with follow backs for sure. But you can see I’m getting there steadily.
Reply here. Boost them. #followback
Let me just state. THIS POST IS NOT ABOUT FOLLOWING ME. It’s about following those that reply. Make them feel welcome.

@SpockResists Good initiative, Spock! I'm glad you did that.

For those interested in finding their old friends, you could take a look at https://www.movetodon.org/ which is a website that finds the Mastodon username for folks you followed on Twitter.

It got me 90 or so of my friends back!!

Movetodon: Finds your Twitter Friends on Mastodon

This site is great in its presentation. But there seems to be a general issue with sites of this nature where the follows don't take. So I run it twice every once in a while as more migrate. Second time if accounts still show as not followed click their mastodon id to the right of their image. Will open mastodon in a new tab and you can click the mastodon follow/unfollow/withdrawfllow, until you follow.

Interesting! I've used it a few times over the weeks since I've joined Mastodon and can confirm that all of the follows I clicked on the site, stuck on the server. Maybe it's because I run my own instance?
@IPngNetworks
I was thinking it was a remote server thing but unsure. But some of my follow attempts seem to get stuck, where I need to click the withdraw follow button in mastodon , then click follow button to make things right.

@IPngNetworks @asalerno1964 @SpockResists I used movetodon a couple of times in the past, and it always worked. Probably the issue is either with something different in the instance you belong to, or with some of the authentication not being properly done…
