We need to get bivalent boosters to older people with urgency

Everyone, at all ages, benefits from the bivalent booster—but older people have the highest mortality risk, & in many states (eg Florida) booster rates in this age group are too low

@gyamey not only does Florida have abysmal rates, but it also has a high number of high risk individuals. Especially an elderly population in a place where other NPIs don’t exist either.
My mother lives there and it is scary. The hospital care is also not exactly amazing.

@Daniellakrn The Florida Governor and his Surgeon General, Joseph Ladapo, have ramped up their anti-vaccine rhetoric. This rhetoric has consequences—FL has the second lowest booster coverage rate among nursing facility residents.

@gyamey I’m not shocked. DeSantis has amassed a scary anti-vaccine/anti-science council of sorts that supports and furthers his dangerous to humanity agenda. It goes beyond politics into actual harm to life.
