Here is the suspension notice received by @JxckS, the owner of a Twitter account that used public information to tweet the activities of Elon Musk’s private plane. Elon had promised to allow the account, but today said, Nah.

As predicted in last week’s comic, Elon is using a transparently nonsensical definition of “spam” to shut down accounts. If he doesn’t like it, he deems it “spam.”

@rubenbolling @JxckS it's amazing how fast "it's a company not a government, they can censor whoever they want" turns into "OMG they censored me! i can't believe this! this has to be stopped!"

I don't have anything to do with twitter, really. I saw it as an overblown website back when it started to gain traction. It's always had issues with advertisers, because you can't monetize the network. It's an unwritten rule.

However, if you're deliberately doing something to annoy the owner of a business, i'm not entirely sure what you'd expect. I can love free speech all day online, but if a bunch of people with megaphones came to my house i'd be upset.

Also i'm not sure what Musk's end game is. I'm still an idiot optimist that hopes his plan is to blow up all the billionaires on voyages to mars. I don't want a tesla. I have starlink, because i wanted to check it out. I don't care one way or the other about any of his endeavors, and i wish the US government capped personal wealth at $999,999,999.99

@genewitch @rubenbolling @JxckS That's not what happened tho. The point is that a self-described free speech absolutist is now finding out he doesn't like free speech all that much. Meanwhile people were more concerned about the sudden surge in n-word postings than any new censorship

This comes across as something of a strawman. Pointing out and criticising Elon's double standards doesn't necessitate the person doing so also subscribes to the logic behind them. People aren't hypocritically flipping their free speech related views, in a vacuum; there's relevant context.

I love how Musk could have walked away from Paypal, Tesla or SpaceX and lived as a happy billionaire, but instead craves approval so much he chases the GOP, who can literally be bought, and Republican voters, who are the second most gullible group of people around (Only behind Cybertruck reservation holders)
