Dan VerganoThe sense I get in all this is that Musk, like a lot of our plutocrat oligarchs, doesn't believe in an honestly informed public being a good thing. Or else he wouldn't lie so much. The public is to be bamboozled to sell them shit that is harmful, dumb, or unneeded, nothing else.
Honestly informing them about reality from an observer's vantage, news, is an illegitimate act in this worldview. They subvert the bamboozling. Its performers are literally subversives.
