Elon Musk wants to sell Twitter stock for the same price he paid. It’s like selling a Tesla at full price after he’s totaled it. https://www.semafor.com/article/12/16/2022/elon-musks-team-is-seeking-new-investors-for-twitter
Elon Musk's team is seeking new investors for Twitter | Semafor

The managing director of Elon Musk’s family office reached out to potential investors this week.

@davidheath There will likely be enough far right billionaires willing to chip in to keep the site running, at least until the 2024 election.
@beryllium Elon Musk’s net worth has dropped nearly $180 billion in the past year.
@davidheath
The messages that were already subpoenaed from Musk during the course of Twitter forcing the acquisition show there's likely a lot of interest in pushing narratives in exchange for cash. https://time.com/6218578/elon-musk-texts-twitter/
The Big Takeaways From Elon Musk’s Twitter Texts

Hundreds of Elon Musk’s private text messages about Twitter have been made public. Here's what they tell us about his bid to buy Twitter

Time

@davidheath

Everyone knows a social media company loses half its value the moment the fascist new owner drives it off the cliff.

@davidheath if you think about this, it could be an opening statement of intent to sell Twitter off. I've thought it a distinct possibility, given Musk's public behaviors, that he could seek to sell/merge it off to a business like Truth Social.
@MarkBignell Who in their right mind would buy it?
@davidheath exactly...no one in their sane and rational mind would buy it as is.
I'm not saying there is an interested party. I'm just saying Musk looks to be ripping the company apart to sell it off just like a vulture capitalist.
@davidheath
Can I pay him with Dogecoin?
@davidheath
Saudi money will still snap it up.
@davidheath @TCatInReality serious question didnt they already co invest in twitter? Did the new owner actually use his own cash?
@spy604 @davidheath
As I understand it, Musk did use some cash. The 3 biggest funders of the purchase were:
- Musk
- a Saudi fund that had invested in Twitter and accepted a % of the new private entity
- debt piled onto Twitter’s books.
I don’t think Musk is selling equity to reduce the debt or buy out the Saudis.
@davidheath Can you imaging what might be in the prospectus for such a sale of Twitter securities?
