Whoever named the Zamboni should get to name more things.
@mardigroan Swizzle Stick? same guy. I mean probably.
@mardigroan I believe they're also responsible for the Chiweenie β€” a cross between a Chihuahua and a dachshund
@mardigroan it's named after the inventor Mr. Zamboni
@mardigroan @nerdybutcute it was named after the inventor. If he named more things, wouldn’t they just be called zambonis too?
@mardigroan It was literally Mr. Zamboni.
@mardigroan Hahahaha. It was Frank... Frank Zamboni. I don't think he felt challenged when he named it. πŸ˜† Although I guess it could have been different and now we'd be saying "We have to wait until they 'Frank' the ice in between periods.
@mardigroan Frank Zamboni owned an ice rink in Paramount, CA. His original machine used to be on display there.
@mardigroan No kidding right? Wallygator is my go to btw
@mardigroan I am from Zambia, it wasn't us, we are Chipalalopos , well at football anyway.
@mardigroan Frank Zamboni, inventor and namesake. Have a Zamboni emoji
@mardigroan
When I was a child, the man who drove the Zamboni at Boston Garden wore a brown "college" sweater with gold rings on the sleeve, and a brown fedora. When he finished doing the ice between periods, the audience applauded and he tipped his hat as he drove off. My mother taught me to clap for him at my first hockey game in the old Garden. I was about 8.
@mardigroan this was one of my favorite tweets :)

@mardigroan the inventor of the Zamboni (also named Zamboni) was the child of Italian immigrants: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Zamboni

Odds are pretty good it was named after him. πŸ‘πŸ»

@mardigroan it is a fun name. Isn’t it the inventors name?
@ManicBookkeeper Yes of course. Wish others replying to this post realized it's a joke not an excuse to educate me. :)
@mardigroan That would be Frank Zamboni, of the Zamboni family, who used to run a number of ice rinks in California. (I believe they still have one down in SoCal)
