Breathing multimillion-dollar contacts to save money in the short term, which is what this looks like to me, seems like a pretty poor strategy.

Especially when you've decimated the legal team that would normally review outside counsel's bills.

Litigation isn't much cheaper than just paying what you owe, and you don't even get a database out of it.

@colin Yeah, I would really love to know the proportion of stupidity to desperation here.
@crary I'm wildly speculating here, but I feel like the plan isn't to maximize Twitter's long-term prospects.
@colin Agreed, but even if the move is for some sort of short-term gain, it seems ill-conceived at best!
