Good morning everyone.
@HeterodoxThis hardcore band the Minutemen called their classic album Double Nickels on the Dime that because it was response to MTV clown rocker Sammy Hagar’s juvenile hit “I Can’t Drive 55”.
“Double nickels” is 55 and their local highway was number 10 (“dime”). They believed it to be punk by going the speed limit!! Real punk logic at work there!! Meanwhile, rich jerks in 1984 were angry that the new safety law prevented them from driving dangerously and recklessly! Be punk!
